It’s officially summer, and with the start of summer comes the start of our newest class of interns. We’re always excited to have fresh faces around our offices and to see the awesome work our new team members will complete. Welcome Summer 2018 Interns!

Kaitlyn Humbert - tilr 2018 Summer Intern

MEET KAITLYN

Tell us about yourself!
I am a fifth year marketing student at the University of Cincinnati. I grew up just 35 minutes north of the Queen City in Fairfield. I have two loving parents, two obnoxious younger brothers, and two adorable dogs. I definitely took after my mother at a young age, sharing a passion for performance and the arts. I was involved in competitive dance, choir, theater and show choir growing up. I loved to be on stage. Now, I enjoy being the observer. Catch me attending concerts, going to museums and art shows, and seeing the Cincinnati Ballet. In my free time, I also enjoy experiencing new cities. Nothing like trying unique foods, drinks and sights with a friend. My next ventures will take me to Philadelphia and San Francisco!

What are you doing for tilr this summer?

I am one of two marketing interns for tilr this summer. I will be working on maintaining tilr’s social presence, expanding upon community outreach, and engaging with community members and clients to utilize the app.

What was the first job you wanted as a kid?

I always dreamed of becoming a veterinarian or marine biologist. I realized later that the amount of schooling and cost of schooling would not make that dream possible!

What made you choose your field of study?

For me, the stages of Marketing are almost like putting on a performance. The audience (the consumers) – have all their attention on you and are dependent on how well you market to them. There are many pieces to work on before making it on stage, or in this case, pushing out the final product or idea. That’s what made marketing ideal for me; the thrill of putting together the pieces and perfecting a craft for the audience to enjoy.

What skill would you most want to learn?

I want to become a better yogi. Meditation and yoga bring me peace of mind, which is difficult for me to achieve most days, but so crucial in order to carry on with daily activities. I want to pay more attention to my body and give it the rest it deserves.

Regan Grabill - tilr 2018 Summer Intern

MEET REGAN

Tell us about yourself!

Hey there! I’m going to be a senior at Miami University. I am double majoring in Interactive Media Studies and Entrepreneurship. I’m from Ft. Wayne, Indiana, so I’m super excited to explore Cincinnati this summer. In my free time, I love to go out and try new food and drinks with friends. If you have any recommendations, don’t hesitate to reach out (@vivalaeata)! I also design apparel for my sorority where I’m also the new member educator, I volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and I like to expand my creative horizons in Igoodea. When I get a minute to chill, I impatiently wait for the next Game of Thrones season, watch Westworld and The Bachelorette, or hang with my cat, Louie.

What are you doing for tilr this summer?

This summer, I’m focusing on B2B marketing for tilr. There are so many directions to go with events, social media, and learning about all the different markets. I’m so excited to work with an amazing team.

What was the first job you wanted as a kid?

When I was a kid, I wanted to be the Crocodile Hunter (Steve Irwin). I’ve always loved animals and nature, and I don’t think he ever had a boring day at work. Who doesn’t want to play outside all day for a job?

What made you choose your field of study?

I chose IMS and Entrepreneurship because there are endless opportunities in these fields. I love how much I have learned about technology, marketing, and design in IMS and I love learning about creativity, innovation, and working a business model in entrepreneurship. This will be useful to me forever.

What skill would you most want to learn?

Well, this isn’t a ‘skill’, it’s a super power, but I would love to be able to teleport. I could travel around the world for much cheaper and I could save myself so much time when running errands.

MEET MOLLY

Tell us about yourself!

Hi, I’m Molly. I am a sophomore at Indiana University studying Marketing and Professional Sales at the Kelley School of Business. I’m from the west Chicago suburbs and currently work for tilr remotely at home as well! One thing I am incredibly passionate about is music. Growing up, I took guitar lessons with my two siblings and participated in choir and theater. I am also a die-hard country music fan. When I’m not in school or working, I love spending time with family and friends, going to downtown Chicago, and watching Law and Order (SVU).

What are you doing for tilr this summer?

My role with tilr is focused on growing the amount of businesses posting jobs on the platform. Within my role, I look for different companies who could benefit from hiring through tilr and reach out to teach them more and bring them on as clients. A thriving marketplace means we have a balanced supply and demand, and my role is continuing to find the right companies with the right job opportunities to build the demand side of our marketplace.

What was the first job you wanted as a kid?

The first job I wanted as a kid was to be a CEO. So much so, I decided in 2nd grade for Halloween I would dress up as the CEO for my favorite clothing brand at the time. I walked from door to door in whatever business clothes I could find of my mom’s that fit and handed out business cards, all while collecting my candy in a briefcase.

Molly Delaney - tilr Summer 2018 internWhat made you choose your field of study?

I chose to major in Marketing and Sales at IU because of my mother. Growing up, all my friends had stay-at-home moms, but not mine. My dad decided to be the one to stay at home with my siblings and I, while my mom continued working. As I got older, I watched her succeed through her hard work, great leadership skills, and her grit. I look to her as my absolute role model. Still to this day she is a huge support and her success stands as a goal for what I want to achieve.

What skill would you most want to learn?

If I could choose any skill to learn it would be coding. I firmly believe “knowledge is power,” and in today’s world, with technology playing a huge role in our lives, the skill of coding acts as a key to the center of innovation. Also, as a music lover, I would love to be able to play piano!
